Palarctic is a creative production company founded by Palestinian filmmaker Mohamed Jabaly, located in Tromsø, Northern Norway. We are dedicated to producing creative, director-driven documentaries that emphasise human rights, social justice, art, and culture. Our goal is to push the boundaries of traditional genres while striving for high artistic quality.
Collaborating with both emerging and established filmmakers, we provide a space for bold storytelling, artistic experimentation, and the exchange of challenging ideas. At Palarctic, we believe in the power of film to reveal new perspectives, spark meaningful conversations, and inspire connection and change.
Mohamed Jabaly is a Palestinian filmmaker, producer and artist from Gaza. His award-winning documentary work is deeply entwined with the beauty and defiant spirit of his hometown. His documentary, Life is Beautiful: A Letter to Gaza, has won major awards, including Best Directing at IDFA 2023. His previous film, Ambulance (2016), achieved global recognition. A dedicated community builder, Mohamed previously ran workshops in Gaza for a decade before coming to Norway, where he now manages the Twin-city project at Tvibit in Tromsø. Mohamed is a co-founder of the Palestine Film Institute and holds an M.A. from Oslo’s National Academy of Arts.
